I believe that Iran (through Hamas) made a terrible mistake, thinking that 10/6 would create a regional Jihad and that Iran could murder Jews (actual genocide) and it would lead to the elimination of Israel.

Iran was wrong, and Israel became stronger, despite Joe Biden attempts to carry out Obama's ME strategy of empowering Iran, at Israel's cost.

The fact that the Democrat party, and our Universities support this position is abhorrent. The DNC has taken the side of the most reprehensible humans that have existed in my life time.

Good luck running on that platform.

Beautiful piece Bari. I have had similar thoughts. I live in a neighborhood where there is violence and looting at the smallest provocation, or none. The streets and burnt out buildings are graffitied with “Free Palestine “ and recently a coffee shop had its windows smashed in the night. It’s crime ? Hard to tell. According to the local Facebook group it’s fine to smash windows to “fight gentrification.” The leftist anarchists of the neighborhood are cheering on the terrorists

. I cannot imagine what would happen if this country were really under attack. It’s already under attack from within. Blue cities are completely breaking down. It’s like watching a body rot from the inside.

The holiday from history never was. It’s not as if Islam ceased to exist or abandoned its goal of world domination. With the migration of Muslims to the West in the last 4 years, and the insane embrace of this invasion, history is travelling at warped speed.

"A break from history..."

Hamas ideology is the same ideology that mastermind and executed 911. Twenty-two years later we have Americans cheering on this ideology that would cut their heads off if given the chance.

One reads this, watches the videos, and wonders why Western journalists and politicians can’t understand that Israel has to win this war and destroy Hamas. It is a moral and practical imperative.

The Free Press just keeps getting better.

One cannot underestimate the silent majority in this nation. We are living this moment of slow deterioration; defense of our republic will come when pushed to our precipice. Like Israel, it likely will not begin from a central command but out of a need to save our nation, our citizens and our freedoms.

I have nothing to add, other than that in my own view life is in reflections and deep emotions like this.

Who are we, if we are not willing to give everything when it is needed? Very little, in my view.

The West lives in a constant state of denial wishing away the trials to come. Always temporizing, without resolution, refusing to confront the imminent.

And yet still so many people freely and enthusiastically vote for Democrats that financially support Iran, boggles the mind.

Sad to read this piece on the morning we hear your team in the WH is turning on you. Well publicly now , always knew privately their support was soft. Knew this day was coming.

The piece was very moving and inspiring. Yet it also made for some self reflection. What would America do in a similar situation? The greatest generation volunteered for service, lied about their ages to get into service earlier, sacrificed basic necessities and went to work whenever they were needed to support the war effort.

Now contrast that with current day. Would gen x, gen y, gen z, millennials, etc., feel the same patriotism? Hard to say unless it happened but some polling seems to indicate the answer would be no.

The other thing that struck me is that Bari is a liberal, makes no excuses for it, yet when I read these pieces, seems to be advocating for patriotism and fighting for your country (Israel) of shared religion, beliefs and values. Do you think Bari has ever written a piece like this asking why things like unchecked illegal immigration might be bad for America and how people have been affected by it? Has Bari interviewed families whose loved ones were murdered by an illegal immigrant?

Has Bari interviewed people whose kids are being indoctrinated by public schooling to hate America? Bari references people in America supporting Palestinians in murdering Jews yet never seems to link that to liberal indoctrination in schools and universities.

Why do so many forget that until Israel’s right to exist is recognized there will be no peace? Why does no one recognize that the civilians in Gaza are trapped not by the Israelis but by their Arab Muslim brethren? Why does no one recognize the real genocide of Jews in the Arab world?

The juxtaposition of reading about the strength and courage of the Israelis and seeing those witlessly parading in the streets of America praising the savages of October 7th is almost beyond comprehension. To quaver in the face of evil is one thing To embrace and celebrate it quite another altogether. We are living with lunatics and lunacy. And it is long past time for decent people in our country to put aside their plows.

The world is changing, perhaps it always was but lived in a delusion of technology and affluence after the wall came down. God bless Israel and may they come out of this stronger.
