Should father's bring their young boys to burlesque shows? Sexualizing little children is abhorrent to any responsible parent and should be illegal.

Look, I get that folks who are a sexual identity minority have a right to express themselves. The problem I have is that children are most likely to turn out heterosexual without any external influence. Do not try to influence them! Let Nature take its course. Don’t try to “recruit” them, when their young minds that have expressed no sexual “identity,” into any non-normative identity. Let the babies grow on their own! Accept how they turn out. Please do not manipulate them. Nature will out!

That’s all I have to say as mother of 3, grandmother to 9.

It is difficult to listen to the drag queen rationale, and blatant ridicule of those the hosts consider homophobe. The idea of taking New York’s $200,000 and spending it in Kansas to “drag deprived ” people is not even humorous, and worse if it was serious. When I saw the intro of “two of our favorite lesbians”, I thought…and in what way does knowing that enhance the story? Do other sites introduce their hosts as “two of our favorite straight/cisgender people”? No, or should they.

How about we all stop talking about gay people. Our favorite lesbians should be the ones that don't have to remind us about their sexual preferences.

Two points:

- I adore this podcast. Nellie is born to be a podcast host and Katie is full of wisdom. And it goes without saying that Bari is a beloved hero, along with Bret Stephens, for their stand at the Wall Street Journal.

- From this week's TGIF podcast, I got curious about the cost-of-living issue after the discussion about Houston's lack of zoning.

I googled Bankrate's metropolitan area cost-of-living comparison calculator and decided to compare Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta (among others). I found that Dallas and Atlanta, both of which are chock full of meticulously zoned suburbs, have a cost of living that is virtually the same as Houston (relative to California, in particular).

This suggests that Houston's lack of zoning is not the primary driver of its low housing costs relative to California, which leaves me wondering what land use regulations California has, (over and above regular suburban zoning ordinances), that are driving up their housing costs so drastically. I haven't found that answer yet, but someone out there must know.
