This paragraph: "White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was right when she called it a “cruel, premeditated political stunt” that was “reckless and just plain wrong.” But cruel political stunts sometimes pay off. (See: Trump’s entire first campaign.) Or they backfire. DeSantis has his eye on 2024 and this will certainly enthrall the base, but who knows how it will play to most Americans."

This reeks of the liberal bias that says, "if the GOP does it then it is a cruel stunt that may not pay off" versus if the Dems do it then it is "savvy governance that represents the will of the electorate". If aligning with the accuracy of anything that Karine Jean-Pierre said from the podium is your strongest point, you need to go back to the inkwell.

If I wanted to read the snarky, know-it-all voice of New York magazine, I would read newsletters from New York magazine. Common Sense until this installment has been the smart and interesting and challenging alternative.

“I always found their obsession with it, and the search for a smoking gun that probably was never going to emerge, to be rather reaching”

—————————————————

If you are even marginally acquainted with the contents of the laptop and do not consider it to be a smoking gun, you yourself are a corrupt scumbag.

Joe Biden started a natural gas company, including office space, not just on paper, with Chinese spies who have since literally been killed, a month after Charlottesville which was allegedly the event that called him to duty to save our nation’s soul.

“Sure, the laptop has everything from homemade porn to buffets of drugs to an international money laundering scheme by the then Vice President’s son but honestly guys, I’m still struggling to see why all the right-wing bros down the street won’t let it go.”

“Karine…was right….”?

The usual, or at least implied rules here are that the writer lays out the facts as he or she appreciates them. They may be presented in a way that is intended to sway the reader. But ex cathedra pronouncements like the above won’t persuade this readership. Save them for New York mag, whose clientele apparently needs to be told what to think.

We don’t.

So when Biden flew plane loads of illegals to other states, that was OK. But when DeSantis does it, it’s a humanitarian crisis?

Where were all the fabulously rich people of Martha’s vineyard rushing to gather up some of the “no-one-is-illegal” illegals and housing them in their multi-bedroom mansions?

The hypocrisy of these people is beyond comprehension.

One more thing—-

Leave the Queen alone. She was a model of inspiration. I wish we had someone like her in America. Instead we have “Dr” (of Education, good grief!) Jill. And Princess Clenched Fist Nancy. And Cackling Bloated Hillary.

I know you asked for us to be kind since it is your first time and all that, but dude, really?

"But after reading about all the scoundrels involved in peddling this thing, and their various motivations, it isn’t hard to see why the press was so wary of this story."

If you need "extra" reasons for the liberal media to be wary other than the standard fare of losing an election and investigations of corruption and influence peddling, then you have a religious zeal that I just cannot fathom.

Regardless of DeSantis’s political motives, I fail to see how it’s ‘cruel’ to provide free, comfortable air travel to the safe, progressive, diversity-loving sanctuary of Martha’s Vineyard for 50 poor people who risked their lives to come into this country illegally. What might be cruel is the enticement from Biden’s rhetoric and policies to make the dangerous trek across Mexico to illegally enter the US and the implicit expectation that Texas and Florida will just have to suck it up, because: politics. What might be cruel is for American cities and communities to virtuously signal themselves as sanctuaries for undocumented migrants, only to angrily hoist the NIMBY flag the moment these human beings, risking all for a better life, actually show up.

At this point I really do give up trying to understand the liberal mind.

Hunter Biden's laptop is not about his perversity. It IS about credible evidence that a sitting president of the United States got a laundered cut of money paid to his son by our implacable enemies, the Communist Party of the PRC. In other words, an illegal kickback at best, outright treason, at worst. Because if Joe Biden isn't the "big guy," who is? Please spare me the excuses. If we had a real FBI and a Justice Department not run by a partisan, demented dwarf, we'd have an investigation. But we don't and we won't and so we all know what were dealing with. And why Biden calls us insurrectionists and domestic terrorists.

Oh, and Democrats in PA offer up a cartoonish, Shrek-like imbecile and still the Dems line up to kvell and swoon. Seriously? The damage wrought by the senile imbecile in Washington isn't bad enough? Oh and about that incident pointing the shotgun at the jogger who was black? Just Fetterman having some fun? As I observed yesterday, there is something seriously amiss with the liberal mind......

"But after reading about all the scoundrels involved in peddling this thing (laptop), and their various motivations, it isn't hard to see why the press was so wary of this story."

Get real. The press was wary because it was in the tank for the Democratic Party. Before the election, Tony Bobulinski shared two cellphones and discussed much of the contents of the laptop, which the FBI had seized and held for more than a year, apparently for the same reason.

I'm politically unaffiliated and didn't vote for either party's candidates in 2016 and 2020. It's bad when so-called news media ignore a story that is worthy of attention. It's worse when a federal law enforcement agency suppresses information to protect one political party.

Instead of relying on "scoundrels", the press could have done their own investigations into Hunter's laptop. For some reason, they did not.

“There’s now a debate brewing about video clips appearing to show Fetterman struggling to speak clearly”

—————————————————————-

There isn’t “a debate”. There’s a totally disqualifying video and a bunch of evil retards who vote for Democrats are lying about it.

I hope they run that local news video of the black guy who was jogging, who Fetterman chased with a shotgun, on a loop in Philadelphia.

Exactly how is sending illegal aliens to liberal enclaves “ a cruel… political stunt”? The left obviously wants these people here - they just want to force other people to take care of them. Border towns in Texas, Arizona, California and New Mexico are dealing with MILLIONS of illegal migrants. Sending a few thousand of them north not only demonstrates the brazen hypocrisy of the left, but also the ACTUAL cruelty of letting them in in the first place - and then ignoring them.
