No kidding, but it is worse. Much worse. $60+ million dollars 'raised' to help 'black people' on the basis of burning private property to the ground and assaulting thousands of innocent people.

A few years ago I read Patrice Cullor’s book When They Call You a Terrorist. It’s about her finding the BLM organization. I had heard it being gushed about on NPR and immediately joined the long waitlist at my library to borrow it. While reading it, I was actually aghast at just how bad it was. She frequently would compare BLM to Palestinians plight, but gave little more explanation than “Israel bad and racist.” For a comparison to a geopolitical conflict on the other side of the world, it was incredibly lazy and devoid of any context. By the end of the book, I was genuinely wondering if I had read the wrong book after hearing it described as “enlightening.”
After finishing the book, she seemed little more than an opportunist that found a way to guilt people for money. It’s sad that she found a way to funnel money to her pockets that could have been used to build establish and improve community resources. I can’t help but think, most media outlets are cautious on calling out the money mismanagement out of fear of being labeled a racist. It was the only reason I could think why her book had so many gushing reviews when it was little more than just self righteous dribble.

I love TGIF but just want to point out that Joe Rogan gets it right a lot more than your choice of BBC fact checkers would like to admit, Common Sense. Here’s some fact checking of the BBC fact checkers:

Item One! Silly me. Why did I spend years in college and graduate school, studying history with a concentration on modern Germany, familiarizing myself with the sordid and heinous record of National Socialism, when all I had to do was tune in to "The View" and have Whoopi explain it all?
Now of course you could just say that Whoopi Goldberg is a dolt and an ignoramus, and leave it at that. But on reflection this was a revealing affair. She reminds us that Woke progressivism's black-and-white definition of racism enables a whole bunch of racists to skate. You can barge into a synagogue and shoot six or eight Jews, and though that would make you a bad person, you couldn't be called a racist. White people killing white people, right? It's not racism, it's fratricide! Never mind that if you go to Israel you'll encounter lots of Jews, e.g. those rescued from Ethiopia in the Eighties and Nineties, who are definitely un-white. But Wokedom has reserved the racism franchise for, ahem, the BIPOC: primarily blacks of African descent and maybe, kinda sorta, Latinxs [sic]. (Asians probably should not bother to apply.)
So, hilariously, Whoopi claimed that the Nazis had it all wrong—they thought they were racists but all they were doing was persecuting and killing fellow whites. I find myself wondering what would have been the reaction if during my Master's oral exam in 1984 I'd made such a claim. No post-nominal initials for you, Tom—get outta here! But I was educated at a time when higher education was just that and not what it is today: a twenty-first-century campus revival of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution. Thus I'm familiar with Nazi racial theory, which sorted the whole of humanity into racial categories, with the Jews at the very bottom. No doubt if they'd had an opportunity to do so Hitler & Co. would have oppressed and persecuted blacks in much the same way they oppressed and persecuted the Slavic peoples. But even Slavs and blacks stood higher in the Nazi racial hierarchy than the Eternal Jew, who alone was marked down for total liquidation. But all this, of course, is way over Whoopi Goldberg's head.
Incidentally, I agree with those who say that Whoopi shouldn't have been cancelled, even for a couple of weeks. What she said was indeed despicable and vile—but after all, despicable and vile is what "The View" is all about. And plenty of people across the mainstream media, academia, politics, etc. have said despicable and vile things without being disciplined, e.g. Sarah Jeong of the NYT. I suspect that Whoopi was disciplined to deprive conservatives of some particularly over-ripe low-hanging fruit: a progressive icon letting the Nazis off the hook for racism. But after all, isn't that precisely the logic of Woke "anti-racism"? And was not Whoopi Goldberg's Holocaust screed an accurate example of that logic?
