Setting aside the fact that Biden (technically) excluded approximately 93% of the U.S. population from his pool of candidates, he also ensured that Jackson won't be remembered as someone chosen because she was the best for the job; she'll be remembered for possessing the immutable characteristics that fit the bill for this identity politics charade, which guaranteed her a spot in the winnowed-down candidate pool she was ultimately picked from. You cannot disqualify that many of her peers and still expect posterity to believe Jackson was appointed for being the best overall for the job and not just the best amongst black, female candidates.

Now, imagine if Biden hadn’t publicly made such a promise and instead kept his intent to himself, or within his camp, at least. Then he would've done right by Jackson. Patronizing has rarely enjoyed so literal a denotation. The regressive tendency to categorize people on the basis of immutable (and, frankly, negligible) characteristics like skin color, class, gender, sexual orientation, and so on and so forth, and then disingenuously gauge their merit using an “intersectional” lens, is dehumanizing. It does nothing but widen our ever-growing cultural dichotomies; it makes people resentful and prone to recrimination and even more miserly with their personal sympathy wells than they are already.

I find this all highly assuming, I feel like as a mental health counselor that spends six hours a day in sessions with clients I get to put my finger a bit more on the pulse of our culture. Well at least in my general area, which is a liberal one. This is because all people do is confide in me all day long, politics is a big source of anxiety for some so it comes up a lot, I don't share my views I just listen. However! I've never met a Latino that likes the term Latinx. Everyone except those on the very farthest left are sick of COVID mandates of all flavors. It's equally rare to hear someone angry about opposition to transwomen in sports, most are appalled by it. With the trans population, the strange denialism about being born a boy or a girl isn't often present either nor is there often a denial about physical differences. USA Today had a fascinating article about how even biologists can't tell what a woman is, XX chromosomes be damned! I mention all of this because I am continually puzzled by who exactly all the whacky people actually are that push all of this nonsense? It's rare that I encounter one even in a very progressive state, I don't often see the woke extremists. Yet they are out there in positions of power and very vocal. Maybe it's because I don't virtue signal on my practice website with a bunch of social justice nonsense. A lot of others do that..... I keep politics out of it.... because it's therapy.....

I suspect Dems are set to lose politically until they come out of this strange ideology. One that I think history will judge harshly.

I suppose my main point is that woke whackos who push all of this stuff from my experience are a significant minority group that screams very loudly. What I see the most of from my liberal clients is people idly nodding along and not speaking up about it in public. Democracy is silent and anonymous though. Nobody knows how you vote. People that push this ideology should be afraid because the sands of time are already shifting beneath their feet. Never be so certain that you're the good guy and free of all sin.... It's not always clear if your the guy wearing Klan robes until after the fact.

Ted Cruz was not a jerk, especially compared to the Brett Kavanagh circus. Rest in peace to my dear friend who died a death of alcoholic despair during the COVID lockdowns. Going out to his menial jobs and other social activities was what kept him alive. I hope that this line of questioning in the KBJ hearings gives us all a little more moxie in challenging the transgender trend, which really is a logical pretzel of epic proportions. What is a woman? It's long hair, make-up, and high heels! At least according to the trans ideologues, it is. Like pink? You're a woman! It's so regressive and idiotic it ought to surprise anyone that it's gotten this far.

Re. Cruz and Blackburn—-I think Senators know there is little chance this Kamala Harris v2.0 has of not being confirmed. They use the stage to inform people of just how ridiculous the left has become. And not just ridiculous but toxic to our society. The left is tearing down every social norm and defying us to push back. And now they will have another champion, a trophy on our highest court. The wise Latina has a sidekick.

We don’t need to worry about China or Iran or Russia. We have the left, destroying America from within.

Both of my daughters were born in the 80s. This was at the beginning of the movement that proclaimed that our children would be sparred from any and all emotional trauma. We created a world where they would go through their formative years and only receive positive feedback. This was an unnatural thing to do, would deprive them of the realities they'd face as adults, but since we've never been a society that obsesses about the long term affects of our short term thinking, it was embraced by the left and their friend in the teachers unions.

Seeing the bizarre logic which is employed today in which 'science' has no real link to facts or logic, which gives us man-woman hybrids, babies that are racist, criminals as victims, advocacy as news and Orwellian bastardization of our language, I think it's safe to say we've discovered what happens when you deprive youth of the character building necessity of hurt feelings. We've put so much emphasis on protecting feelings that we're gone past bending rules, and now are happy to bend facts.

Why do the old-school-liberals continue to allow this woke junk to spread into positions of power? The primary focus of the liberal agenda has been women’s rights. How can a SCOTUS pick that cannot even define what a woman is defend women’s rights?

We need to start identifying and labeling the woke critical theory indoctrinated people as being unfit for positions of power and influence. They are in fact corrupted cultists that need intensive cognitive behavior therapy to get them back to become a functioning human.

There are easy questions to ask them to help identify them. Once identified they should be rejected.

Old-school-liberals are really blowing it thinking these people represent their ideas and interests. They don’t.

Sadly, this is just one more symptom of decline of USA.

As I was growing up out side of USA, USA was example of a country that should be emulated by others, great educations, stable and trustworthy intuitions, especially courts. In less than 30 years, America has literary made 180 turn.

Congress is now example of corrupt government body, I used to think how corrupt was government in my home country, now members of Congress are doing insider trading with no penalty, family members of politicians(both dems and republican) are getting positions based only on family name and nobody is hiding it. Its like system has been literary corrupted to the core and it is not serving citizens anymore.

SCOTUS appointment have degraded to that extent, that basicy simply by looking at the political affiliation of the Justices, you know immediately how will each justice rule in a case. Now ever more wokeness is eating the justice system from inside by appointments of new judges .

But the worse is, this insane situation, that USA Universities have actively started teaching Pseudo-Science, denying biology, calling math racist. In elementary and high schools, childeren are being taught wokeness, except for STEM classes. And then people wonder why is education failing. It is like, more pseudo-scientific theory you can make up, you get more funding.

Sometimes I thing, that if enemies of USA have occupied it, they would do less damage than what is currently being done by American them selves.

I currently live in China (I am not Chinese, just work here), and the approach to educations is completely different, government (I dont like CCP) actually understands how important education for success of country is, thus STEM studies are absolute priority, be it funding and access. Since I am married to American, ware seriously worried, will USA be able to compete in long run.

Take example of Infrastructure, here in China every single inch has been covered with high speed internet, that is very cheap and affordable, since CCP understands that the Internet is future and competitive advantage. When my Wife and I go to America, we cant belive, how bad and expensive internet is, it is literally worse than my home country and my home country is literal third world.

I honestly hope, that USA will be able to get back on right track, and get rid of this woke insanity. USA need to be shiny beacon it used to be.

Jackson should not have said, "I'm not a biologist." The whole point of the progressive point of view is that biology doesn't matter. You don't NEED to be a biologist to decide (for example) that trans-women are women. What she should have said was, "I'm not a psychologist."

I am an extreme right-wing partisan hack but I’m 100% positive that is not influencing my opinion here.

Cory Booker’s performance was the most cringey fraudulent shit I’ve ever seen. Not exaggerating. And Kidpornji Brown Jackson was tearing up listening to him which means she’s also a fraud.

XX chromosomes. XY chromosomes. That EVERYONE can’t immediately recite this off the top of their head is a massive embarrassment to our educational system. Two degrees from Harvard and you’ve never heard of chromosomes? What is happening to us.

"Woe be the poor soul who didn’t go to college—all you can debate with a high school degree is the day’s weather."

If you need to be a biologist to define a woman, you need to be a meteorologist to discuss the weather.

The correct answer to the (ridiculous) argument "Are you a biologist?!" is "Yes, as a matter of fact I am". "Liar, you are a garbage collector", "Wrong! I identify as a biologist. You don't have any right to tell me who I am. And as a biologist - I also identify with having a PHD, by the way - a woman is a human female as identified by the number and type of chromosomes (two X) she was born with. Furthermore, a woman is capable of pregnancy and giving birth from puberty until menopause. Female anatomy is distinguished from male anatomy by the female reproductive system, which includes the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina, and vulva."
