Any doctor, medical professional, educator or parent who knowingly aids or assists in the sex transitioning of a minor child should be arrested, prosecuted and jailed. Full stop.

The sub-headline of the article implies that the clinic was closed due to, "long wait times and inadequate services," and the article uses the phrase, "sex assigned at birth," while parroting the false premise that hormone blockers are " largely reversible." It also barely scratches the surface of the *mounting evidence* that it's not merely a dearth of information about the long-term effects of puberty blockers that is raising the alarm among the medical establishment in Europe - it's studies shows how harmful these medical interventions are for young people!
This entire article makes me want to cry. How many children have been permanently damaged by these vicious interventions in otherwise healthy bodies? I also despair of our medical associations who seem to be overcome with activists instead of researchers whose prime job function appears to be to line the pockets of pharmaceutical companies and sacrifice the health and the lives of those it believes will push the current political narrative. 😪
This article only confirms my opinion that the transgender craze will ultimately prove to be one of the greatest medical and political scandals in American history. Only now are we beginning to get some inkling of the enormous damage and toll of misery that’s being inflicted on young children in the name of what can only be called junk science.
What I find particularly revolting is the intimidation of parents by activists and doctors who tell them that refusal to go along with gender transitioning, lest their kids commit suicide. This is simply a lie—and it’s being deployed by physicians, men and women who’ve taken an oath to “First, do no harm.” How did we get to this place?
One thing that was not mentioned is that dramatic reduction in girls also coincided with the Swedish national television showing a documentary called Trans Train which featured people who had undergone the surgery and now regretted doing so. There are many 'social contact' psychiatric disorders you can catch from your social groups or the media, and the evidence is pretty strong that 'gender dysphoria' is one of them.
President Biden, stuffed like a turkey with this bullshit, and promoting it...is one of the sickest things I've ever witnessed a government doing. Anyone who can't see that is willfully blind. And there are millions upon millions of Americans in dire need of a guide dog.
Use of terms such as "Gender Affirmation" rather than the saying actual surgeries and hormones shows many of these advocates cannot explain why a double mastectomy for a girl is needed.
The fervor to transition girls into boys is horrifying, it reminds me of the efforts decades ago to give gays “therapy” to make them straight. I think there are thousands of gay girls today who are being told “nope, you can’t be gay, you must be physically transformed into a boy to be complete.”

Sure, there are a TINY fraction of people who genuinely have some form of dysphoria. From my perspective, its a birth defect.
Young women / girls are subjected to an obscene level of advertising and social pressure to conform to some unattainable version of beauty. Its in the magazines. Its on social media. It is glorified by the disgusting amount of attention given to people like the Kardashians. THEN, to add to that, they are introduced, along with the boys, to the most vile pornography imaginable via the internet and their phones. Pornography where women are literally abused. First you give them a standard they have no hope of meeting and then tell them that even if they do that the result is going to be physical harm and humiliation. Toss in all the talk by feminists about how being a woman means being denied opportunity and being discriminated against. Toss in all the chatter in media about the misery of motherhood and WHAT GIRL in her right mind would actually WANT to grow into a woman? Is sounds horrible.
THEN, throw in two years of being locked down and the stress of no school, no social life, and what the hell do you expect.
THEN, we have a generation of parents that have convinced themselves that they need to always make their child happy NOW rather than helping them to grow up and be healthy, responsible citizens, able to stand on their own and take care of themselves and build their own path to some version of happiness as adults.
I blame the culture.
I blame the enablers in schools and social services.
I blame the medical profession.
I blame the damn parents for not having the guts to do the right thing and tell their kid "No".
I blame all of us for allowing this freaking culture to develop, for not putting the breaks on the schools and social services (public servants), for not challenging the medical profession and big pharma and for not shaming parents that refuse to step up and raise their kids.
Is this the beginning of the end of sociopolitical-based medical experimentation on children who are pressured into conforming to unscientific notions at the behest of strangers to grants adults’ desires for validation?
We can only hope.
Edit: maybe in ten years my daughter will believe the US a safe place for my grandchildren. They’ll be teenagers then but still.

They also both worked to ensure that "holistic" care as Cass terms it was not banned as conversion therapy as various LGBTA+ groups had wanted earlier this year. The fall out from this decision led to the cancellation of a huge international LGBTA+ conference in ENgland as various groups pulled out. However the stance was vindicated by Cass.
There are also a number of v brave journalists who have worked long and hard to bring this scandal to the light over twenty years.
Lisa Selin Davis's book Tomboy was cited by the founder of Transgender Trend Stephanie Davies-Arai as a must -read for people interested in gender nonconformity. Stephanie is another huge hero in the uncovering of the truth about Tavistock.

I am a transgender woman and I transitioned in young adulthood. Transition was ultimately a good decision for me personally. I am happy I transitioned. My career and quality of life have actually improved post-transition (this seems rare nowadays fwiw). With that said, the quality of research in transgender medicine is shockingly bad. When I was weighing the decision to transition, I was surprised how little quality evidence there was to suggest transitioning would be beneficial. It was a leap of faith I took after weighing all of my options and coming to the realiziation that transition was my last resort. When I embarked on medical transition, I understood the risk that ultimately surgical and medical transition would likely shorten my life and I would be a medical patient for life, a humbling revelation. Transitiong as an adult is risky, transitioning as a child/teen is substantially riskier and the safe-guarding should be significantly higher as this population does not have the mental maturity to understand the risks/benefits of transition.

The quality of evidence for youth transition is very poor and that is why other countries are shifting their care models to more conservative safe-guarding models which is appropriate.
