My 16-year old son who had Omicron in December is being forced to get the third dose by his school. I spoke to the doctor who is the head of the Covid committee and she told me and then all parents on a school wide zoom three untruth that she clearly believes. 1. That the vaccine is more effective than getting Covid at giving immunity and for this reason she would give her child a booster on the 11th day after getting Covid 2. That we need to give boosters to our children to protect the under five year olds who cannot yet be vaccinated 3. That there is total agreement on this position by all doctors. It is the last statement that drives me crazy. I had shown her scientific studies and data from Israel that at the very least show that there is no scientific consensus and examples of booster skepticism by prominent doctors abound across media. Clearly there is no agreement and don’t tell me otherwise. I am mostly disappointed by the fact that doctors and decision makers are letting their fears guide their decisions not the science. This is yet another issue that undermines trust in institutions.
I myself could have died from taking the vaccine, so I have experienced the side effects first hand. Prior to the second injection my blood pressure was 135/75 and had been stable all my life, although of course lower when I was younger. It was tested at the dentist the day before my second shot. AFTER the second shot my blood pressure shot up to 190/100, which can be silently fatal. If I had not been tested again at the ophthalmologist a couple of weeks later there is a very good chance I could have died from a stroke or a blood clot. Now I am forced to take blood pressure medicine, probably for life.
